Benji is a sweet little guy who was only surrendered because his owner went into assisted living and couldn't bring him with. Even though he's still unsure of the new environment he's adjusting to, he nuzzles my hand when I pet him, lets me pick him up and carry him around, and even purred and rubbed up against my legs when I took him to the vet—he's definitaly a people cat at his core. He spends his days hiding in nooks and crannies, but comes out to explore the house at night. The more confortable he gets, the more his curious and playful side shows and the more he comes out during the day. He's a young and healthy guy who the vet described as "remarkable." He co-exists perfectly with my dog whose presence he seems to care very little about in typical cat fashion. Benji is ovbiously a really smart, observant, and deeply kind cat. Once he settles into his forever home it's clear to me that he'll be the perfectly independent yet entirely sweet and loving cat that so many people look for.

All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).
Ruff Start Rescue is a foster based rescue. Animals are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a facility where animals are kept.
